   Decent taste

   Considering these are vegan, the taste is pretty good. I’m allergic to both whey and casein, so I can’t have any regular protein bars. I’ve never had a reaction from ANY of this companies products, so I will definitely be trying other flavors.

   Must like peanut butter!

   I wanted a protein bar option made without soy. This peanut butter chocolate chunk bar has 10 grams of protein. The flavor is about 99% peanut butter. I had to double check the label to make sure it mentioned chocolate because I didn’t taste it. Texture is kind of grainy. I had to eat it slowly to finish. Not bad if you love peanut butter. I wanted more chocolate flavor though so I think I will order the brownie flavor instead.

   Decent Gluten-Free Protein Bar

   Largely we looked into this “flavor” because we really enjoy the Chocolate Chip Cookie Protein Bar (in the same line) by Orgain. We got into these protein bars because they are delicious, organic and gluten-free. We try and go organic, especially for processed items when possible, for our son and when my wife has been pregnant. My wife is gluten intolerant and so she tries to avoid gluten as much as possible to avoid the very unpleasant symptoms. The amount of protein is a good amount ~10 grams, without being too much… if you wanted to have … more bars for pleasure’s sake. For all of these reasons it is a perfect fit.As much as we like these… I like these the most in my family, despite them really being for my wife or son. In comparison to the chocolate chip cookies… these are not as good: there are less chocolate chips (always a plus to have more), less sweet and the flavors are less distinguishable. The flavor is reminiscent of the chocolate chip cookie protein bar, but that flavor is reduced and (of the peanut butter chocolate chunk) the peanut butter”flavor” is barely noticeable. However despite its more general flavor profile this bar is still very good and provides a nice amount of organic, plant-based protein to your snack options.

   No Glyphosate, product tested independently to insure purity.

   It is hard if not impossible to find an organic, vegan, sugar free, gluten free bar so these are a regular part of my diet. I have to follow a very bland, restricted diet and these are a tasty addition. They meet my dietary needs and taste good. One reviewer mentioned the pea protein in these tested very high for glyphosate. I was immediately concerned and contacted the company who responded back in just a couple of hours: “Glyphosate is unfortunately one of the most widely used herbicides in agriculture and one of the most pervasive chemicals in our food system. Reducing the use of glyphosate is one of the motivations to grow crops organically and produce or purchase Organic products.Because of our concern that glyphosate can migrate to organic fields, and to ensure that we are holding our organic pea suppliers to the highest standards, Orgain instituted a protocol in late 2018 that requires every lot of organic pea protein to be tested by an accredited global third party lab for glyphosate, glufosinate, and aminomethlyphosphonic acid (AMPA). Since instituting the testing, not a single batch of organic pea protein has tested positive for any of these chemicals. Out of an abundance of caution, we also conducted third-party testing on finished goods on Orgain’s best-selling protein powders (including the product mentioned in the article), all of which returned zero detectable results. Please see attachment. We will continue raw material testing on every lot of organic pea protein as part of our regular quality protocol and will refuse to use any ingredient that tests out of spec.”
